Employment Opportunities
COUNTER STAFF
Find out why Anthony Bourdain calls Russ & Daughters one of his "favorite places in New York," by joining our famous front of the house counter team.
Be part of 100 years of New York City history, learn the tradition of "appetizing," and engage with the public in a meaningful way.
We are looking for bright, articulate people who are fast, focused, and attentive to detail and presentation. Candidates should have a background/interest in gourmet food, retail experience, salesmanship, strong communication skills, a good work ethic, and enjoy providing a special experience. Knife skills and familiarity with specialty food items such as smoked fish and caviar are preferred. This is a great job for someone with culinary training who wants to apply their skills outside of a kitchen.
If you genuinely enjoy working with and talking about food, connecting with people, and providing the best service, then we want to hear from you.
Give us a call at (212) 475-8331 and tell us a little about yourself, and e-mail your resume in the body of an email (no attachments)to employment@russanddaughters.com
INTERNSHIP
Russ & Daughters is looking for a part-time intern to join our team in the office and in the shop. This internship will provide hands-on experience in event planning, media and public relations, research, archiving, and website/blog operation. Experience in these areas is preferred, but professionalism, motivation, integrity, attention to detail/organization, and true enthusiasm for food and food culture/history of New York City are equally important. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in public relations and the history and operation of a landmark NYC culinary institution.
Responsibilities include: assisting with event planning, printed materials, blogging, and research/archiving projects. Ideal characteristics include: reliability, professionalism, motivation, integrity, and thorough attention to detailed organization. Familiarity with computers and the internet is crucial, as is experience with blogging programs (Tumblr and WordPress), Photoshop, and image scanning.
Please send a cover letter and resume in the body of the email to: jen@russanddaughters.com and niki@russanddaughters.com. Be sure to tell us about your previous experience, what you are looking to learn in an internship, and why you want to work with Russ & Daughters.
